01
Who these terms are between
AlisLog ("the app") is operated by Kevin Bonomi, an individual trading as AlisLog in the State of Florida, United States ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@alislog.com. By downloading or using AlisLog you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app, and if you've already paid, ask Apple for a refund.
AlisLog is rated 13+ and you must be at least 13 to use it. It shows calorie and weight targets that are not appropriate for younger users, and it is not directed at children.
AlisLog is offered from the United States and is not currently distributed in the European Union or the United Kingdom. If that changes, these terms need revisiting before the first EU sale.
02
Your licence to the app
The app itself is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. That covers installing and running AlisLog on devices you own. Where Apple's EULA and these terms conflict on the app licence, Apple's EULA wins; these terms govern our services.
03
AlisLog is not medical advice
AlisLog shows information computed from your own logs — it isn't medical or nutritional advice, and AI-estimated nutrition can be inaccurate. Calorie targets and maintenance estimates are informational only. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant dietary changes, especially if you have a medical condition or a history of disordered eating.
Nothing in AlisLog diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any disease, and you should not use it as if it did.
04
Nutrition data can be wrong
Nutrition figures come from third parties — Google Gemini for estimates of described meals, and Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central and UPCitemdb for packaged products. We don't author that data and we can't guarantee it.
AI estimates are estimates. They are generated from a text description and can be wrong about portion size, preparation, and hidden ingredients.
Crowd-sourced product data can be stale or incorrect. Open Food Facts is contributed by volunteers; a label may have changed since it was entered.
You can always correct it. Edit any food's numbers by hand and AlisLog will remember your correction and prefer it next time.
If you have an allergy or a medical dietary restriction, read the physical label. Do not rely on AlisLog for allergen information.
05
The AI lookup service
When you search a food, describe a meal, or import a recipe, we send that text to an AI provider through our server and return the result. The service is metered: free use includes a daily allowance of AI lookups, and Premium removes the limit. When the allowance runs out you can still log everything by hand, and it resets the next day.
You agree not to:
Automate, script or bulk-query the lookup service, or use it outside the AlisLog app
Attempt to extract, resell or redistribute the underlying data or model output as a dataset
Submit content that is unlawful, or that you don't have the right to submit
Work around the daily allowance, the rate limits, or the app-integrity checks
We may rate-limit, suspend or block an installation that abuses the service. Because there are no accounts, that is enforced against the installation, not a person.
06
Share links
When you create a share link for a recipe or cookbook, its contents are stored on our server so the link works for whoever you send it to. You keep ownership of what you write; you grant us only the narrow permission needed to store and serve it to people holding the link.
A share link is public to anyone who has it. There is no password and no access list. Treat it as published — don't put anything private in a recipe you share.
Links expire after 180 days, automatically, after which the link stops working.
We can remove shared content that is unlawful, infringing, or abusive, without notice.
07
Household sync
Household pantry sync passes through a relay we operate. The relay is transport only: your phones exchange an encryption key directly inside the pairing code, so what reaches our server is ciphertext we cannot read, and it is deleted automatically within 7 days.
Two consequences follow honestly from that design. We cannot recover your household data if every paired device is lost — there is no key escrow. And we make no delivery guarantee: sync is best-effort, and you should not rely on it as the only copy of anything.
08
Premium, prices and renewals
AlisLog is free to use. Premium unlocks unlimited AI lookups, adaptive goals, and household sync. Everything else — logging, recipes, meal prep, pantry, themes, trends, your metabolism graph, and export — stays free.
Monthly and Annual are auto-renewing subscriptions. Annual starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, which becomes a paid year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. Forever is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Current pricing is always the price shown in the App Store at the moment of purchase. All purchases and refunds are handled by Apple — we can't issue a refund ourselves, and Apple's refund policy applies. Restoring purchases is available in the app.
09
Your data is your responsibility
Because AlisLog has no accounts and no cloud database, we hold no copy of your log. That's the point of the product, and it has one consequence you must accept: if you lose your phone without a backup, we cannot restore your history. Export a backup from Settings and keep it somewhere safe.
10
Availability and changes
The app runs on your device and keeps working offline. The services described here depend on servers and third parties, and are provided without any uptime commitment. We may change, suspend or discontinue any service, and may change what's free versus paid for future purchases — we won't retroactively remove something you've already paid for.
11
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AlisLog and its services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that nutrition data will be accurate.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here affects a right you have that cannot be waived under Florida or United States law.
12
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or health outcomes arising from your use of AlisLog. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for AlisLog in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and both sides consent to those courts. Your mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.
14
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continuing to use AlisLog after that means you accept the update.
